The Legal Research Board (LRB) began at the University of Texas in 1961 and is one of the oldest student-run legal research organizations in the country. The LRB is sponsored by the University of Texas School of Law, and chartered by the State Bar of Texas to research and write legal memoranda for licensed attorneys.

Our student researchers represent some of the finest legal writers at the University of Texas School of Law. Each year, the Legal Research Board invites twenty students to join: the top five research memo writers from each of the four first-year law school sections. Those who accept become our LRB researchers.

Please consider engaging the LRB to perform legal research and writing on your behalf by submitting a request.
